This study aimed at examining the effect of work-life balance on employees’ job satisfaction among health workers in Tanzania. Magu District Hospital was used as case study design. Compensation and spillover theories was used as the theoretical foundation of the study. The study adopted a quantitative approach to collect data through questionnaires from a sample size 100 respondents who were sampled by using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics with the aid of the Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The findings revealed that both level of work-life balance and job satisfaction at Magu District Hospital were unsatisfactory. Moreover, the study found a significant moderate positive relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction. This indicates that an improvement in work-life balance leads to an increase in employee’s job satisfaction. The findings underscore the important role of work-life balance, particularly in local government authorities as a strategic means of enhancing employee job satisfaction.
