ETHICS

EJBM is committed to adhering to ethical standards at all stages involved in publishing articles. The journal does not accept any unethical practices in research and publishing from authors, editors and reviewers. In order to make EJBM and all its stakeholders meet ethical standards the following has to be considered;

  1. Authors are not allowed to submit papers that have been published or are under consideration (at any stage) for publication in other journals.
  2. A person to be recognised as an author of an article should have significant intellectual contribution in preparation of the content of the article. Adding names of people who did not play any role in preparation of the article is not accepted.
  3. In case authorship disputes arise, editors will have to refer to the authorship and contributorship flowcharts from COPE
  4. Editors and reviewers of EJBM are not allowed to publish more than one article in an issue
  5. Excessive self-citation in an article is not tolerated. Authors are not allowed to have more than 4 self-citations per article. In case there is a need to exceed the limit, authors have to write to the Editor in Chief to offer justification(s)
  6. Falsification and fabrication of data is strictly prohibited
  7. EJBM considers plagiarism a very serious academic malpractice.
  8. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism check before being sent to reviewers.
  9. A maximum of 20% similarity index as per Turnitin plagiarism checker is allowed in a particular manuscript.
